MONOCHROME STOCKHOLM APARTMENT

I don’t know what it is with me at the moment but I just can’t get enough of the monochrome / browns / natural materials combo. This Stockholm apartment is another great example of how a little texture goes a long way with those beautiful leather armchairs in a black and white interior.

And that cylindrical wood burner in the corner… *swoon*. A perfect pied-a-terre apartment for that luscious relaxing self-indulgent time before you have kids. No, I’m not bitter – just nostalgic.

For more inspo along this gorgeous colour and texture palette check out two of my favourite Instagram accounts: Rachel from Haussmith and Montreal based Chloé Crane-Leroux. Pure eye candy!

INTERIOR DESIGN & STYLING BY ANNABELL KUTUCU

7 January 2016

interior design, style, trend, styling, natural materials, wood, leather, period pieces, soft, warm, earlthy, calm, reflective, period apartment, a traveller’s home

I’ve featured interior designer and stylist Annabell Kutucu on here before with her work for the stunning San Giorgio in Mykonos and this is one of her latest published projects called ‘A Traveller’s Home’.

The earthy tones and wall colours used throughout in combination with natural textures like wood and leather give a wonderful warm and soft feel to the period apartment which strikes me as a very calm and reflective place.

I particularly like the kitchen with it’s period stove sitting happily opposite a state-of-the-art wine fridge. Now there’s somebody who’s got his priorities right.

NEW IKEA VASES | FORMLIG COLLECTION

6 January 2016

for the home, ikea, vases, new, trend, style, styling, photography, formlig collection, spring, fresh flowers

I seem to be drawn to vases and fresh cut flowers at the moment. Must be down to the fact that the UK has been pummeled with sheer non-stop rain and flooding these past few weeks and I’m longing for brighter skies and Spring.

So, as we can’t play outside (much) I took the boys to IKEA yesterday – they love the meatballs and I get a good look around at what’s new in the marketplace. Their new Formlig collection caught my eye in soft pastel tones and semi transparent glazing and dare I say I see a hint of Muuto in them. Can’t be a bad thing.

CALM SWEDISH APARTMENT

3 January 2016

calm, clean, interior design, interior style, styling, decor, flower arrangement, lotta agaton, kristofer johnsson, photography, residence magazine, sweden, calm swedish apartment, cool, new year, happy new year

I’m easing myself into the New Year with this calm Swedish apartment featured in Residence magazine.

I was struck by the beautiful flower arrangements and the soft cool winter whites. A nice start to the year already hinting ever so slightly at Spring. Styled and shot by my favourite duo Lotta Agaton and
Kristofer Johnsson.

Wishing you all a (belated) Happy New Year!
