STUDIO ENVY | SARA BERGMAN OF LOVE WARRIORS

I’ve got serious ‘work space envy’ when looking at these beautiful images of Sara Bergman’s studio.

As one of the founders and creative force behind Swedish lifestyle brand Love Warriors she gets to source products for individual interior projects as well as the web shop which sells everything from furniture and home decor to photography prints and textiles. Love Warriors are a bit boho, minimal and natural in their colour palette with a Scandinavian touch and describe themselves as:

We are treasure-hunters traveling the world to find unique items and hidden gems in corners of the world forgotten by others. We create our own design, brought to life whith recycled materials from demolitions, flooring, boats, doors, glass and oil drums meet fresh linen, supple leather, natural materials like shells and sandstone and refined and hand-crafted ceramics.

Most importantly though the gorgeous industrial space also serves as Sara’s studio for her other career as a childrens book illustrator and allows her to combine her talents.

I adore the industrial look with exposed brick walls, subway tiles and concrete flooring in combination with a mix of vintage and new furniture and lighting.

A wonderful space for one seriously talented lady.

How awesome is this shop!? Moroccan design and home decor meets Scandinavian cool – and it totally works.

Zoco Home is based in Helsinki but you can shop their collection of unique handmade decorations like poufs, rugs, lanterns, ceramics, vintage trays and cement tiles online as they ship worldwide.

I could dive right into these photographs beautifully styled and shot by Paulina Arcklin. She has a real talent for creating a modern rustic look and I love all the textures set within this white minimalist space. A look that fits happily into any season but works especially well for Christmas I think.

I adore Paulina’s style and have featured her shots of Copenhagen furniture shop/bar/cafe Clarrods back in July. It’s another must-visit on my list.

KIDS CORNER | BLACK AND WHITE KIDS ROOM IDEAS

I’m thinking about changing the boys bedroom when we move in a couple of weeks and have been toying with the idea of keeping it very minimal and black and white – well, as much as a kids room actually can be minimal.

Researching kids room ideas on Pinterest and the wider web has made me realise how much fun it is to furnish and style a kids room and that I’d love to incorporate a few vintage pieces like an old school desk or some vintage gym equipment. Speaking of which an old leather mat would be awesome as my youngest one loves standing on his head and doing forward rolls. My love for DIY which had been on the back burner whilst the boys were still babies is slowly rearing it’s head again and I’ve got a few ideas and projects that I’m currently researching. More soon!

I love the idea of painting part of a wall with black board paint so the kiddos can let their creativity flow and hopefully won’t paint on any other walls… Hmm… might be wishful thinking so let’s start with getting their beds and bedding sorted.

I was surprised at how little choice there is for black and white kids bedding but I can always reply on Agata from Rafa-Kids to come up with the most stylish solutions – isn’t the sheep blanket below to die for. Alternatively, I can dive straight into my first DIY project, buy some fabric and sew some bedding myself. Oh, isn’t inspiration late at night just wonderful!?

INTERIORS CRUSH | MODERN RUSTIC WAREHOUSE

As promised I’m going to bring you some fabulous interiors that incorporate lots of texture over the next couple of months. So let’s kick off with this new built warehouse in Friesland that softens it’s industrial edges with beautiful rugs, throws and cushions in boiled wool and felt.

The monochrome palette of greys, browns and soft whites feels very calming and draws your attention to the different materials used. I adore the contrast of the sleek iMac on top of a rough wooden work desk that’s reminiscent of old warehouse palettes.

It’s a modern rustic look that pitches polished concrete floor, A-frame steels and roughly painted brick work against vintage finds and heirlooms and I like how the uneven edges of the boiled wool rugs and throws add an immediate cozy feel.

My favourite shot has to be the bedroom with dark indigo/grey vintage linen next to an untreated block of wood as a bedside table. It’s simple and rustic yet wonderfully contemporary and I can just imagine how cozy this space must feel in the winter with lots of candle light.

INTERIORS CRUSH | ECLECTIC APARTMENT IN BERLIN

You might remember my mood board last Saturday where I confessed my love of vintage gym equipment and Annabell Kutucu’s styling!? So I thought I’d share the whole project with you today which is a fabulous eclectic apartment in the trendy Berlin Mitte district.

A total bachelor pad and very masculine with mostly dark grey walls and ceilings and beautiful oak flooring. The apartment and styling pays homage to Berlin and it’s creative diversity with quirky details on display everywhere and the different textures from raw to polished wood, black leather and shiny steel add to the sumptuous effect.

There’s a great selection of large wall art, some sleek music and recording equipment and that wonderfully styled hall with a gym bench and vintage pieces – oh, how I love that idea. There’s even some white hand writing on the ceiling presumably for those totally chilled out moments when you’re lying on the floor in front of the fire listening to some great tunes late at night – recreational drugs optional.
