Not long now before our inaugural Function+Form event kicks off and we’re over the moon that Northern Irish apron maker Sarah Quinn from Enrich and Endure will be one of our guest speakers.
I featured Enrich and Endure on here before and loved their genuine passion and enthusiasm to revive the local linen industry and combine craftsmanship with modern design.
Setting out as a homewares company co-founders and siblings Sarah and Lorcan were keen to explore other uses for Irish linen which is one of the strongest fibres known to man. Being also obsessed with quality food and good coffee the idea of creating an apron kept creeping up and they worked with their favourite coffee shop to design and create their first set of linen aprons.
It is an innovative use for a time-proven fabric and Enrich and Endure can now offer a range of customisable aprons that can accommodate any brief whether it be different colours, extra pockets or longer straps each project is a true collaboration.
Sarah and Lorcan sum up: “Our ethos is pretty simple – quality materials, longevity, local craftsmanship and top-class design. So no matter how often you wrap it around you, rub your hands down it or put in a hard days graft in it; it just gets better with age.”
All aprons are handmade in Northern Ireland with an obsessive attention to detail and I can’t wait to hear more about their journey and feel the quality of their aprons in just over a week at Function+Form.
