Crittall style windows and doors have been on my wishlist for a long time so you can imagine how my heart skipped a beat when I saw this gorgeous home renovation in Sydney by Baldwin & Bagnall.
Apart from the Victorian facade the Annandale house was almost completely gutted as the floorpan didn’t serve the requirements of a modern, growing family who wanted a thoughtfully designed residence with a comfortable, clean and modern interior that didn’t wipe out the houses’ heritage.
Baldwin & Bagnall did a fantastic job blending traditional features with bespoke joinery and minimal use of colour throughout to achieve that neutral contemporary canvas the clients were after. Upstairs the master bedroom is more sumptuous with a fabric covered room divider that serves as a headboard and some beautiful long drapes framing the original french doors leading out to a typical Victorian balcony.
I love how the ground floor has the feeling of a gallery with ample natural light thanks to newly installed skylights and white walls which set off those stunning Crittall style windows and doors beautifully. A touch of industrial chic brought into home life which can only be a good thing in my world.
My head is spinning with (even more!) ideas for our own ground floor renovation which I can’t wait to tell you about very soon.
