Happy Monday peeps! I don’t want to scare you but it’s only eight days till Christmas… eek! So far my month has been a whirlwind of activity and I couldn’t be more grateful to those online elves who once again helped out with the wish list this year. Regardless of how much you let the Christmas stress get to you, just take a minute and indulge in today’s Christmas decorations Nordic style via one of my favourite Danish sites called Femina.
It’s decorated with lots of stylish, mostly white and natural materials and gives just a hint of Christmas without being overbearing. No surprise it’s the home of interior stylist and photographer Mette Wotkjær and her family, just north of Copenhagen. She says her Christmas style has become more and more Nordic and simple in recent years though she does admit to being inspired by fashion every year, an occupational hazard for a stylist!
Her decorating style might not be what most people think of as typically Christmassy (is that a word?) but she loves tradition and makes sure they have a day baking cookies every year and also a day crafting with the children.
I particularly adore the large oversized decorative stars in different materials inside the house and in the garden, some accurately cut in pure white, some made from straw and some even serve as lighting. The home oozes purity and relaxed style to me and I would die for that conservatory with views of the snowy garden landscape. Pure bliss.
Enjoy and I hope you’re inspired!
