MOOD BOARD | SOPHISTICATED WINTER VIBES

I know I sound like a broken record but I do NOT like this mish-mash grey rainy cold gloomy weather. Give me a crisp winter’s day and I’m happy as can be but this moody sitting-on-the-fence weather is driving me mad. Too dry for wellies and too muddy for trainers. What’s a modern mum to do? Walking boots I guess but we live in the outskirts of London, not in the country. Even the parks have pavements here. Idunno…

After this outburst I’m going to brighten up the day with a sophisticated Winter vibes mood board where all my dreams come true. An ultra modern concrete cabin with underfloor heating – check. A minimalist wetroom – check. And me curling up on the sofa in this wonderful wrap cardigan – bliss. Oh, and of course the ground outside is frozen and crisp so my box fresh trainers won’t get muddy.

Well, a girl can dream…

MOOD BOARD | IN LOVE WITH GREY

I’m going to continue the monochrome theme today with grey which has always been a bit of a favourite colour for me. It’s so flattering in clothing and interiors as it provides a great backdrop and base for pops of colour.

Last week I came across Cereal founder and editor Rosa Parks article of The Graham & Co and fell in love with the look of this small boutique hotel in the Catskills, a mere 100 miles north of New York City.

Perfectly located for hiking, fishing and skiing the hotel describes itself as a modern take on the classic weekend getaway. It is run by four friends who all have a background in design and fashion which accounts for the simple modern rustic styling of the rooms. Rosa’s shot of the branded grey blanket above gives you a flavour of the hotel’s laid back and comfortable style. Check out their website for more details.

MOOD BOARD | RUSTIC WINTER VIBES

Happy weekend everybody! I’ve taken off for a girlie weekend and we’re heading to Bath which is such a quintessential English town looking especially pretty during the festive season with it’s Christmas markets and decorations.

Apart from some shopping and general tomfoolery copious amounts of festive treats will be consumed and maybe even a mulled wine or two. If the weather and light(!) plays ball I might share some shots with you on here next week. In the meantime let these rustic winter vibes keep you warm and get you in the festive mood. Before we hit the season to be jolly some last autumnal inspiration for you all via my Pinterest feed. This year Autumn really has delivered all that was expected – gorgeous colourful leaves, fruit and seeds, some sunshine accompanied by glorious golden sunsets as well as the warmest Halloween on record.

MOOD BOARD | AUTUMN VIBES #01

There’s no denying it, it’s definitely Autumn. I briefly got fooled into thinking the warm weather would continue into November when we experienced the warmest Halloween on record last week. Since then warm jackets, hats and even gloves have come out and I’m preparing myself for the darker months.

I was really inspired by the moody picture above from the Toast AW14 look book (isn’t her outfit gorgeous!?) and have created a little mood board around it. Hope you like it and stay tuned for more autumnal interior trends next week. I’m thinking layers of different textures and materials oozing warmth and comfort, perfect styling for the coming months.
