I’m excited to share these wonderful shelves by Rafa Kids with you today. I virtually met Agata, one half of Rafa Kids, on Instagram and have been closely following the brand for a good year now. She and her husband are trained architects and felt there was a lack of versatile well-made furniture for kids so they started designing kids beds in flexible and strong plywood, sustainably sourced and made to the highest standard in Poland.
Their quality, eye for detail and contemporary design has seen their brand and range grow from beds to desk and stool with the latest addition of some fabulous shelves. I love the elegant simplicity and functionality of the shelves and their beautiful finish which shows off the layered plywood and introduces powder coated metal for the first time. Eeach shelf is well thought through and keeps your growing child’s needs in mind.
The L shelf is deeper than the others in the range and can be placed in a nursery eg above a changing table to store the necessary accessories and display some special baby clothes or little shoes.
The M shelf which has a metal plate with 3 hangers can be used for jackets and backpacks and the large XL shelf is perfect for displaying all your child’s favourite books, magazines and treasures.
I love the beautiful curved edges which go so well with the other furniture in the range and I’m (not so) secretly thinking that I might order one for my own home office… maybe the S shelf with it’s magnetic pinboard. Help! I can’t decide… they’re all so beautiful.

At first it looked like bet plywood. Then I notices the glued up slivers of wood. That’s a lot of glueing and reshaping to get those curves. These shelves are really beautiful.
