OMG! Californian beach house vibe in London!? I just came across Hally’s – a fabulous little cafe and deli – and have to share their stunning interior with you. I’m sure the food is equally divine, though I haven’t been, but trust me it’s going to be my next port of call as it’s not very far from us in South West London.
Hally’s serves Californian-inspired food using organic and ethical produce as much as possible. The owners Anna and Philip were inspired by a road trip to the Golden State and opened the cafe and deli last June.
It was Anna’s lifelong dream to open a restaurant and after acquiring the lease of a derelict cocktail bar they totally remodelled the space and designed it with a laid-back Californian beach house vibe in mind. The team at Alexander Waterworth Interiors was the driving force who did a superb job with immaculate attention to detail.
I love the white-washed brick walls and rustic bar lined with bright yellow industrial bar stools that give an instant summer vibe. I could happily blog the day away at that bar and indulge in various pastries, coffees and salads whilst people watching.
The reclaimed floor boards, rustic table tops and pastel dipped chairs make the place feel warm and lived in and I’ve got a soft spot for those nostalgic orange paperback Penguin books that mix so perfectly with the eclectic pieces on display.
Now all we need is that Californian sunshine. Anna, keep a seat at the bar for me.

Annie thank you for posting this – it is the most whimsical, cute and inspiring interior design I’ve seen in ages! LOVE it!
Glad you like it Gilli. Let’s meet for coffee. X
I LOVE this place….I too am yet to go but will be sure take a nosey next time we are in London! I absolutely adore the decor, it’s so homely and welcoming – I think if I popped in for a morning coffee I could very well end up staying to closing. The quirky little touches like the books and the clock on shelf work beautifully in a bar/cafe situation without looking in anyway staged or propped – Ah I just love it!
Great minds, eh Sarah!? 😉 X
This is my kinda cafe. Everything about it is exactly how I would design it as well. We are working on a take away Shawarma outlet and have the very similar finishes specified for the counter and the front window counter. How cool to have like-minded designers happening in different parts of the world. South Africans not that far behind then. Encouraging actually. I could also happily sit and blog there the whole day – one cuppa after the other.
Love every detail about tis space! Beautifully done! Can you tell me where I could find those yellow bar stools?
GLad you like it Rebecca. Sadly I wasn’t the interior designer so not sure where you can get those stools…
