Hello and a warm welcome to another guest contributor on Stylejuicer. Southern California based Michelle Sterling is the lovely mummy of Avery and Nate and a photographer with a blog called Avery and Augustine where she records her children’s first forays in cooking, art and everything in between.

Today she features some fabulous building blocks that are a real treat for creative parents who are into their typefaces – oh, and of course they are great for children too but Michelle will tell you more about that. Take it away Michelle!

Thanks Annie, I’m excited to be here and glad you’re so enthusiastic about the building blocks… not to call you a font nerd!

You can introduce children to thoughtful design early on with their playthings. This set of Neutraface Slab Blocks by type foundry House Industries is made of replenishable Michigan-grown, kiln-dried basswood and is a great introduction to different typefaces and hopefully a subsequent appreciation for them! Other amazing block sets by House Industries can be found here. And don’t worry, you don’t have to be a typography nerd… but it helps.

Love it Michelle and thanks for the in-joke. For everything cute and kiddie related head over to Michelle’s blog and for more adorable photos check out her portfolio and follow her on Instagram.
