Oh, how I love living in London and London Design Festival is one of my favourite weeks of the year. I was invited to see The Apartment at Perseverance Works in East London which had been designed in collaboration with British tastemaker Suzy Hoodless.

Another Country were celebrating their fifth birthday and it was inspiring to see a whole domestic setting fitted out with furniture and accessories designed and produced since 2010. I’ve long been a fan of their contemporary British design which advocates traditional slow values as founder Paul de Zwart explains:

“Another Country was, quite literally, crafted from a workshop in Dorset with one simple idea: to create a relevant, modern brand that expressed a set of values through furniture. Furniture that was made to last, inspired by archetype, produced sustainably, and fairly priced.”

The Apartment also included complementary pieces from likeminded brands such as Vanderhurd textiles, industrial lighting from Workstead, and artwork by Serpentine Galleries and David Murphy, showcasing the versatility of their collections and narrating the brand’s values and ethos.

You can see more of the commissioned Dorset series in Another Country’s showroom on Crawford Street in Marylebone including some beautiful photography by Rich Stapleton.
